In running and maintaining our website, SIP may collect and possess several types of data about you. Any information that is not voluntarily given is not likely to reveal personal information, but is technical and analytical. This data includes:
Cookies are data files that are transferred between web servers and web browsers, processor memories, or hard drives (clients) to recognise a particular user's device when said user accesses a website. They are used for a range of different purposes, such as customising a website for a particular user, helping a user navigate a website, improving a website experience, and storing any user preference and login information.
Cookies can be classified as 'session' or 'persistent' cookies.
Session cookies are placed on your browser when you access a website and last for as long as the user keeps the browser open. They expire when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies are placed on a computer when you access a website and experience at a fixed point in time, or if you delete them from your browser, whichever occurs first.
These will be set either by our website domain, or by third party domains on our behalf. Cookies set by SIP on our website domains are and will be referred to as 'first party' cookies. Cookies set by third party domains set on or via our website domains on behalf of third parties are 'third party' cookies.
Most cookies do not usually contain any personal information. Cookies may, however, be used in combination with other held information to identify a user.
SIP are first party and third party cookies on our websites, and both session and persistent cookies.
Essential cookies are those which are necessary for SIP to run our websites, and any essential functions on them.
Functional cookies store information about user preferences and previous interactions with any SIP websites, and recognise a user whenever they return to a website, in order to improve experiences and personalisation. SIP use them for:

We, SIP, cannot be held responsible for how third parties use information they gather from cookies.
The easiest way to accept or reject some or all cookies used by a website is to adjust your browser settings.
Some browsers, such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, allow you to change your settings to browse in Incognito modes, limiting the amount of data placed on our machine and automatically deleting any persistent cookies placed on your device when a browsing session has finished. There are also third party applications which you can add to block or manage cookies.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by visiting here. You are welcome to block the use of some or all of the cookies SIP use on our websites. However, please be aware that doing so may impair websites and functionality, or render them unusable.
You can find more detailed information about cookies and browser settings at All About Cookies.
Phew, we're almost done with the policy bits – don't worry! Here's just a few other parts we think you should know about.
SIP may embed web beacons in our email marketing campaigns, and on our websites. Web beacons are small GIF image files which enable us to track user receipts of our emails, how often users view our advertisements or websites, geographical locations, IP addresses, and browsers.
Web beacons are activated whenever a user opens a marketing email or accesses a page on our websites containing a web beacon. They transmit data when users view them, but are not capable of accessing any information on their computer. Web beacons are not stored on a user's hard drive unless the user has downloaded a GIF image containing them.
Some browsers enable users to restrict web beacons by preventing them from sending information back to their source. For example, when users choose browser settings that block cookies or trackers, or when users do not access images with beacons, then they are not activated.
SIP may use Facebook Pixel on our websites. Facebook Pixel is a tracking code which allows SIP to track and monitor the success of advertisements we use on Facebook, and to improve effectiveness of advertisements by recording information such as the user device used to access our website, and the user actions on our websites. It may be used to create retargeting advertisements and create custom audiences for our advertisements on Facebook and our websites.
Facebook aggregates data gathered from our use of Facebook Pixel on our websites with data it gathers from other sources, in order to improve and target advertisements displayed on Facebook or other services, to improve systems, and to provide measurement services to third parties that use advertising of Facebook and affiliates.
Depending on your geographical location, you may be able to block Facebook Pixel by visiting Your Online Choices, selecting your country, clicking Your Ad Choices, then locating Facebook and switching it off.
